Does anyone remember the activity Mr. Smith made use do a few weeks ago that involved using a PowerPoint software? I do, and I would like to share my experince of that activity. I found the project to be very helpful in the sense of making a fun interactive lesson for the students. Who would of thought that PowerPoint could be turned into a review game or a self learning tool for the children. Some of the benefits I found with this activity was how easy it was to set up. My project took me several hours but it was simple in the task skills needed to run the software. I also saw how it could work in a real class room by just adding a few "wow" slides thst caught the chidren's attention. The only downfalls I found with this project was simple little things like video or sounds not playing on que, or not working all together. Even though there are these some problems with the software I still find PowerPoint as a major tool that I may use in my class in the near future.

I enjoyed working with powerpoint. I found the tool very interesting because I learned many new features that the tool provides. I also liked that we got to share our projects with each other. This gave me new ideas and also provided feedback on my own presentation.
ReplyDeleteI agree with colton this was a fun project and i learned alot
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy making powerpoints, but there is the complication of the time issue and something not working the way you want it to. The fact of the matter is you will always run into some difficulty when doing anything. So it's just another speed bump that you have to aim hard at to get over smoother.
ReplyDeleteThis thread is great and is the reason why I don't use powerpoint in my classroom. It is a powerful tool, but a cumbersome tool. I worked with a teacher that had these amazing instructional PPT's but he made them during the summer and tweeked them during the year. He said they took way to long to make during the school year and he just didn't have time.
